The mission
Pocket Advocate is dedicated to empowering patients with neurological conditions throughout Canada and the United States. Founded by a professional patient advocate and autoimmune encephalitis survivor, the collective understands the immense challenges of navigating the medical system. With a deeply personal commitment to client well-being, they offer invaluable support and expertise to help patients navigate their health journey. Pocket Advocate stands firmly on the side of the patient, providing guidance and insight grounded in lived experience to help individuals achieve better health outcomes.
The purpose
Eric is a patient advocate — not a doctor, and that's the point. He doesn't diagnose or treat. He helps you understand what's in front of you: what your labs and imaging actually say in plain English, what questions will get real answers from your care team, and what options are worth raising at your next appointment. Serving clients in the US and Canada.
How a case runs
- Sign in with your emailNo passwords. A link lands in your inbox, you tap it, you're in.
- Three short readsThe disclaimer, the privacy terms, and recording consent — one screen each, so you know exactly what you're buying and exactly who sees your data (you and Eric; that's the list).
- Your call: public or privatePrivate is the default. Or let your session stream live on the TheBroScientist YouTube channel so other patients can learn from it — your files stay private either way, and you can flip back to private any time before the broadcast starts.
- Pick a time, pick a channel, paySlots run 8am–6pm MST, at least 72 hours out. Discord, Zoom, or a phone call. $100 through Stripe — the slot is only yours when the payment lands, and the case file opens itself the moment it does.
- Load your ammunitionLabs, imaging, records — upload anything you want Eric to see before the call.
- The discussionA real conversation about your symptoms, your history, your dead ends. Recorded, and the recording is yours.
- The report — within 7 daysA written battle plan: what was discussed, what to ask, where to push next, plus anything Eric dug up after the call. Yours forever, downloadable, printable.
- Follow-up if you want itGrab the +$50 follow-up at checkout for a second session on the same case. Skip it, and a later follow-up is simply a fresh case.

The subscription
Pocket Advocate subscription, $20/month: an always-open chat line to Eric, with his live online status. He answers when he's available — response time is never guaranteed, and the terms say so in plain words. That's the honest trade for $20. Completely separate from cases; cancel anytime.
The honest legal picture
This is advocacy, not medicine — no diagnosis, no treatment, no prescriptions, no doctor-patient relationship, no emergency care (call 911). Your data is encrypted, stored in the US, visible to exactly two people, and deletable on request.
